Principal's Message

My name is Dr. José López, and I am honored to continue serving as the principal of Las Américas Newcomer School for a second year. It is with great enthusiasm that I rejoin this incredible community, and I look forward to deepening our partnership in support of our students.

At Las Américas, our mission is to empower emergent bilingual students through a strong commitment to linguistic proficiency, cultural understanding, and academic excellence. We are dedicated to fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment where every student is encouraged to thrive—academically, socially, and linguistically. This year, we will continue implementing personalized language development programs and culturally responsive practices to ensure each student feels seen, supported, and set up for success. Our passionate team of educators stands ready to guide and inspire every child toward their highest potential.

We know that strong home-school partnerships are vital to student achievement. I warmly encourage parents and families to stay actively engaged—whether by volunteering, attending school events, or maintaining open communication with your child’s teachers. Your involvement makes a tremendous difference.
